Information

We took our tried and true lower coil spring retainers to the next level. This enhanced design takes all the great benefits of our original heavy-duty lower coil retainers and adds attachment points to use a Hellwig sway bar without the need for additional hardware or adding extra lift to the front of your Bronco when installing a sway bar. These coil spring retainers also allow you to run your heim steering system tie rod over the knuckle without fear of the saddle running into the swaybar*.

*Requires James Duff Dual Sport Heim Steer System, other versions of heim steering regardless of manufacture may contact make contact with the saddle.

The coil retainer features the same design to allow maximum flex without having to worry about your coil spring popping loose. Our heavy-duty design is stitch welded and laser cut for drainage. Zinc plated for rust resistance.

Our passenger side retainer has been offset for full coil engagement, we've marked them on the retainer plate so you know exactly where they belong when installed. These will ensure a long-lasting product with optimal coil engagement compared at full droop to others on the market.

FAQ

Q: Will these work with factory steering?
A: At this time they have only been tested with the Dual Sport Heim Steering system #5641

Q: Do I need the quick disconnect pins?
A: Yes, #5127 is required for Hellwig QD sway bar systems. If you have a QD setup and want to retain it, be sure to choose #5127. If you want to change your standard Hellwig system into a QD system, you may use #5127 in place of the #5126 hardware kit, you will also need the inner fender brackets (#5128) to allow your swaybar to have a place to mount when disconnected.

Q: I have an older version of the James Duff Heim Steering. Will these work with those systems?
A: This system has only been tested and confirmed to work with the Dual Sport Heim Steering System. If you mount your previous generation heim steering tie rod over (TRO) and try to use these coil retainers they will likely make contact with the saddle. Modifications will be required.

Q: Will these work on any other generation bronco with a solid axle?
A: No these are only compatible with '66-'77 Broncos.

  1. Eric T (verified owner)

These are very well made and easy to install. Also made the installation of the coil spring a breeze with the hold-down tab. Clearly marked driver and passenger side and came with mounting hardware. Clear instructions. Awaiting install of my sway bar.

  2. Trent Chaney (verified owner)

These are very nice looking, well built spring retainers. The pictures really don’t do them justice, they are definitely an upgrade to the original bronco retainers.

  3. tony-6356

  4. Cody Wachtel

the fit and finish is great and pairs well with quick release pins
